Brrr… It’s getting a little chilly!

Apparently we’ve embarked on our journey into a winter wonderland a little early this year, and here at the Dailydo offices we’ve been embracing (and cursing) the chilly weather by wearing slippers under the desk, discretely wrapping blankets around ourselves and using the office dogs as hot water bottles for our laps and feet. And the early arrival of Jack Frost has got us thinking… How can we help you get through winter and make it a little more bearable?

With wonderful wintery treats of course!

With the grey skies and incessant rain, sometimes it’s hard not to get sucked into being all about practicality in the cooler months, but don’t let your wardrobe suffer because of it! Although it’s time to put away the sundresses and sandals, the boardies and jandals, it’s also time to whip out the snuggly jumpers, warm shoes and adorable fluffy ear muffs, and everyone loves that - no? Just me?

Stay tuned to Dailydo and chances are you’ll find a range of products perfect for winter! From snuggly socks and gorgeous scarves that are both fashionable and practical, to beautiful boots that will keep your tootsies dry when you step in that puddle – and hopefully a repeat of last winter’s toasty warm wheatie slippers!

Stay on top of your health!

With the cooler weather also comes nasty bugs; it’s easy to get sick – and even harder to fight it off when the weather is working against you too! Our pick for staying fit and healthy this year is supplementing a great diet with lots of vitamins and a few incredibly effective bee pollen capsules!

Another good idea is to get plenty of exercise; an indoor bootcamp or group class is a great option because it’s not weather dependent, plus group exercise will hold you accountable and motivate you to get out there and do it!

Treat yourself!

When the weather is packing in, it’s easy to convince ourselves that the best thing to do is curl into a ball and hibernate until the sun shines again – but don’t miss out on months of your year just because the clouds are grey! The often depressing weather is the perfect time to treat yourself to some pampering treatments; get a new hairstyle, enjoy professionally shaped eyebrows and maybe even re-live summer with a spray tan!

And what good is looking fabulous if no one sees it? Make the most of one of our great food deals and take someone special on a date night, catch up with friends or just try out that new eatery you’ve been eyeing up for the past few weeks! We know it’s tempting to hide at home, but trust us; you’ll feel so much better if you just venture out into the world!

Its snow joke, winter is here to stay!

With the help of Dailydo, maybe winter really will be a wonderland this year – leave us a comment below and tell us; why you love (or hate!) winter, what your favourite winter activities and treats are, and what deals you’d like to see to help you make it through to see spring!

The Diversity of Dailyread…

Over at www.dailyread.co.nz we like to offer a great range of books at the best prices to ensure all of our Dailybookworms have something to enjoy, so today we thought we’d get in the literary swing of things and put together a list of book categories you can expect to find over at Dailyread…

On the edge of your seat… (a.k.a. don’t read these at night)
Crime. Supernatural. Adventure. Psychological. These books will be jam packed with twists, turns and thrills to keep you on the edge of your seat and seething with suspense that will have you hearing things go bump in the night. This category is home to authors like Michael Connelly, James Patterson and Stephen King and you simply won’t be able to put these page-turners down!

Grab the tissues
Drama, drama, drama. This category is especially popular with women and will send you on an emotional roller-coaster. Chances are books in this category contain a few (if not all) of the following; a death, a public proclamation of love, a gut-wrenching rejection, an affair, a critical accident or a secret past. If this sounds like your cup of tea, watch for authors like Danielle Steel, Susan Lewis and Cecelia Ahern.

I’m just here to look pretty
Flick, flick, flick, pause… flick, flick. These gorgeous books are characterised by their easy-to-flick-through nature. Often full of big, beautiful pictures, fun facts or cool quotes, they’ll be found on a coffee table or classy waiting room.

Voyeuristic - but not in a creepy way…
Let’s be honest, we all love to know what’s going on in other people’s lives - autobiographies and plots that are “based on a true story” fit into this category and fascinate us to the very last page thanks to the unique way they allow us an exclusive glimpse into another world.

The reason no relationship will ever meet my expectations
You know exactly what I’m talking about here Dailydoers… The books in this category offer readers ridiculously cute ‘how we met’ scenarios, overwhelmingly attractive characters and relationships filled with end-of-life-as-we-know-it passion. Think authors like Jane Austen, Marian Keys and most recently Stephanie Myer and you’ll get the idea…

No matter which category you favour, you’ll find them all (and more) on Dailyread. Comment below and let us know which category is your favourite so we can work on getting more of the books that you guys enjoy - and check out today’s great read here!

How to Get a Great Deal!

First. Subscribe to our daily email that turns up every morning and tells you about all the sweet deals we have on offer that day. But how do you pick from all of the fantastic options? Just follow our simple guidelines!

  1. Always check the expiry date. Expiry dates range from a few weeks, few months and even a few years in some cases – it’s always a good idea to check that dates (we put ours in the Nitty Gritty to the right of the deal description) and make sure you’ll get a chance to actually use your voucher!
  2. Take a look at the opening hours – if you’re buying a hair deal but you can only make late night or weekend appointments but the salon is only open Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm… It’s probably not the best deal for you – but never fear, we have a great range of deals, so one is sure to come up that suits you!
  3. Take a look at the location. Make sure you check out where the business is located – we even provide the address alongside a handy Google map in the extra info in most cases!
  4.  If you have a special occasion or specific event/day/night in mind for when you want to use your voucher, it’s always a good idea to ring the business beforehand and check that they can book you in for the day you hope to go to avoid disappointment!
  5. Read the Nitty Gritty! We put all the important info in there and if you still have any questions, give the business a call or drop us a question on the discussion board!

Happy deal hunting Dailydoers!

The Top Five Reasons BoxSlim Rocks…

In the spirit of trying out some of the kick-ass deals we feature on our site, a bunch of the Dailydo team headed along to a BoxSlim class to, well, kick ass! And now we’re hooked!

If you’ve been following Dailydo Auckland for a while, you’re bound to have seen our BoxSlim deals come up (like this one today), but if you’re yet to snap up one of the great offers and try boxing for fitness for yourself, then we reckon you’re seriously missing out! And here are our top five reasons why!

 5. It’s a great workout!

This might seem a little obvious, but it’s true! Some of the Dailydo team are top athletes, while some of us (ahem) are not… But somehow, we all manage to leave the one hour classes feeling great and like we’ve worked our hardest!

4. There’s not too much pressure… But juuuust enough to keep you motivated.

As you may have gathered from point number 5, we’re not all as athletically talented as a certain Daily Luke… But even when we occasionally fall to the floor mid push-up, there’s no one there judging us for it! Just motivating and supportive encouragement to help you step up to the challenge and keep pushing yourself!

3. The sweet beats!

It’s a fact. Crunches are not fun. But when combined with Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’, they’re 100% more fun! Somehow getting into the groove and doing the hand movements distracts you from the burn of your hard working abs!

2. It’s a chance to feel totally hardcore.

There’s something about the weight of the gloves on your hands and pummelling your opponent’s pads that makes you feel completely badass!

1. You get to punch your co-workers!

…enough said.

This is how our deals come together…

Ever wondered how our awesome Dailydo’s get to you? Well, let me break it down…

First, our wonderful team of charming sales reps seek out the best deals for all of you clever Dailydoers! Once they’ve hashed out the finer details and made sure that everyone is getting a great deal, it makes its way to our production team, who make sure the deal is good to go!

Once a deal gets the go ahead, it gets passed on to our creative team who get to work on designing a cool graphic and sweet write up that gives you the low down on the deal.

Then we build the deal page, put it all together and send it back to the business to make sure they’re happy with the result!

And finally, we build our daily email that lets you clever subscribers know all about the wicked deals on offer each day.

Then, at 9am the deal goes live and you lucky Dailydoers get the chance to snag an amazing deal! And voila, we have a Dailydo!

If you’re a business interested in featuring on Dailydo check out our
Get Featured page. Otherwise, check out today’s incredible deals!

Peace! Daily Belinda.

Want to hear our life story?

Given that you’re here reading our blog, we’re pretty sure that you’ve heard of Dailydo, but you may not know the story of how it all began.

Dailydo was the first experience deal-a-day website in New Zealand. We launched way back in February 2010 with just 286 subscribers on day one – though back then it was just three people running the whole operation; Daily Mike, Daily Luke and Daily Dave.

They’re all fancy sports people – Dave and Mike are top level sailors while Luke can be found playing ITM Cup rugby. But they put their heads together and managed to build Dailydo from the ground up, and we’re all pretty proud of what it’s become!

We’ve grown substantially since then, and we do our very best to provide all our wonderful Dailydoers with exciting deals that will make your days just that little bit better!

To date Dailydo has saved New Zealanders a staggering 20 million dollars (not a bad effort from three dudes who just a year ago were working from home in their pyjamas!)

We’re really excited about what’s yet to come, and we hope you’ll join us for the journey! We’re on a mission to bring you fantastic experiences at great prices, and we’re going to give it our all!

So stay tuned, and we hope you enjoy the deals!

Love,

Daily Jade and the whole team at Dailydo.

Have you had any great experiences or discovered a great NZ business using a Dailydo voucher? We’d love to hear about it!
